Our native crafted baskets are in limited supply. Each basket is different as they are hand made one - at - a - time! Labor and skill combine into an attractive basket that will surely please you. This is native art at its best!

Baskets made from marine mammal animals are crafted by Alaskan natives and meet all U.S. Federal standards and laws. We will only ship marine mammal baskets to the United States of America as foreign country law varies. Baskets, paper birch bark baskets made in the NW Territories of Canada.

These baskets are crafted from scraped birch bark, willow frame, white spruce root, smoked moose hide with dyed porcupine quill flower designs. An original work of art reflecting the traditional ways of the native people of the far north. These baskets will bring many hours of enjoyment and will be the center piece of any table arrangement.

Baskets, raffia baskets made in Kotzebue, Alaska.

These native made covered baskets are crafted from raffia and have a very tight weave. They require many hours of meticulous skillful weaving to make a finish product. These miniature baskets are not numerous and command higher compensation than other larger natural material baskets.

Baskets, Whale baleen or conifer needle baskets made in Alaska.

The Baleen baskets have a nice tight weave and are made with black or scarce white baleen. Most crafts are complemented with a walrus ivory figure on the basket lid and have ivory bottoms. The conifer needle baskets are also tightly woven and have a shinny baleen look to them. Both styled baskets are elegantly crafted and are truly a product of Alaska’s far north!

Baskets, sea or tundra grass crafts made in Alaska.

These grass baskets are truly beautiful and are tightly woven by Alaskan natives. Baskets have either dyed grass or dyed seal gut designs. All our baskets have grass lids. The six sizes range from small to large ( 14" H x 8" W ). The larger sizes are more difficult to make, so command higher compensation. Each basket has a radiant elegance that was skillfully created for your enjoyment!.

Baskets, woven red willow tips with whale bone disk or Mastodon rib bone bottoms.

Baskets are adorned with either fossilized Mastodon and walrus ivory, moose / caribou antler, Whale baleen hair and 200+ year old Mali trade beads from Fort Yukon, Alaska. The baskets are crafted in Glennallen, Alaska. We sell many of these exceptional baskets at our Wasilla gift shop.
